Recognising the crucial role that coaches play in shaping not only athletic performance, but also character, resilience and teamwork, we set out to create a platform that supports coaches at every stage of their journey. This inspired us to create a dynamic sports academy that combines theory and practise, making quality education and ongoing support in various areas of sports coaching accessible to anyone, anywhere.
The name ASCENT was not only chosen because the word itself has a sporting-symbolic meaning for the ascent to a mountain peak. It is also an acronym that stands for ACADEMY of SPORT COACHING EXCELLENCE, NETWORKING and TRAINING and embodies our commitment to excellence in education, building meaningful connections and providing innovative training programmes and overall support for coaches. At the heart of our Academy is the belief that coaching is a craft and that great coaches never stop learning.
Through our interactive education at both vocational and degree levels, expert-led training courses, lectures and workshops, high-quality injury prevention and rehabilitation programmes, sports diagnostics and talent identification programmes for athletes of various age groups and ability levels, we aim to provide coaches with all the tools and support they need to excel in their careers and make a lasting impact on the athletes they coach.
